1996 Honda NSX-R

- Sold, Japanese

We are proud to present this 1996 Honda NSX-R, located in the USA.

The NSX-R was the hardcore track-special variant of the original NSX, fitted with intensive lightweighting measures as well as a stiffened chassis, suspension, and a balanced & blueprinted engine. Further beloved for its appearance in the famous ‘Senna in loafers’ test video filmed at Suzuka Circuit in Japan, the NSX-R is one of the most important Japanese collector cars in existence. Only 483 of this variant were made, and a fraction of those survive today in excellent unmodified and original condition.

For collectors looking to dip their toes into the best of the Japanese sports car golden era of the ’90s, we wholeheartedly recommend an NSX-R. As the children of the 1980s and 1990s enter more significantly into the collecting market, values for these cars will only climb.

This 18,000 mile (29k KM) example is perhaps the finest we’ve had the privilege of offering to clients. Finished in iconic Championship White (NH-0) (inspired by Honda’s 1960s F1 cars), it is fitted with the highly desirable Red interior, factory upsized wheel package, and A/C & radio.

Further details are as follows:

  • 1-owner from new in Japan, an owner who was so passionate about his car that he had it signed by Shigeru Uehara, the father of the NSX and the Type R program, and dear friend of Ayrton Senna.
  • All-original condition, never modified.
  • Fully serviced & detailed after delivery in the USA, and fitted with new tires.
  • An example with no underside or engine bay / front bay corrosion – a rarity on NSX-R or any other JDM import!
  • Japanese CarVX documenting mileage, along with included books, records, etc.
